Mechanical Design Engineer

Location : Leicester, UK (international travel required)

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role offers exposure to full‑cycle machinery design, research and development, and international customer interaction. Graduates through to senior engineers are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead top-level design of machinery to meet customer specifications
• Produce detailed and assembly drawings
• Support R&D activities and generate design calculations
• Collaborate with controls and software engineers
• Provide technical support to the sales team, including customer visits in the UK and overseas
• Work closely with purchasing and production teams to meet budgets and schedules
• Liaise with suppliers and contribute to specification writing, manuals, BOMs and CE / Health & Safety documentation
• Ensure engineering quality standards are maintained
• Project management experience beneficial

Experience and Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc / BEng / MSc) or equivalent experience
• Proficient in 3D CAD, ideally SolidWorks
• Broad engineering background in special‑purpose or bespoke machinery
• Experience with MRP systems preferred

Package

• Salary : £30,000 (junior) to £65,000 (senior)
• Hours : 37.5 per week, 9am‑5pm
• Pension scheme included
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
