Job summary

A leading design consultancy in Greater London is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to create bespoke components and products. The ideal candidate will possess 2-3 years of relevant experience and be proficient in 3D CAD, preferably Solidworks. Responsibilities include design from concept, testing, and working cross-functionally to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' experience in Mechanical Design or Product Design.
• Understanding of manufacturing methods: sheet metal, machined components, injection moulding.
• Experience with tolerances preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke components and products from concept.
• Conduct testing and analysis to validate performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams.

Job description

The ideal candidate will have at least 2–3 years' + experience working in a Mechanical Design or Product Design role designing bespoke products and parts using various manufacturing methods including: sheet metal, machined components, injection moulded plastic or die cast parts and components or similar.

Key Responsibilities

• Design from concept for manufacture bespoke components and enclosed products using a variety of manufacturing methods.
• Undertake testing, product development and analysis/ simulations to validate feasibility and performance.
• Understanding of Tolerances ideal
• Work cross functionally with manufacturing, procurement and quality departments to ensure smooth project delivery

Key Attributes

• Proficient in 3D CAD with Solidworks being preferred. Would consider Inventor or Creo
• Adaptable, proactive and team player who is able to use their initiative.
