A specialist restoration company in Flecknoe is looking for a Mechanic/Technician passionate about vintage vehicles. This hands-on role involves diverse tasks in vintage car restoration, promising varied work without repetition. Ideal candidates will have over 10 years of experience in mechanical roles, particularly in vehicle restoration, and possess skills in fault diagnosis, machining, and basic auto electrics. The position offers 28 days of holiday and standard Monday-Friday working hours.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years' experience as a tool maker, mechanic, maintenance engineer or mechanical engineer.
  • Skilled in vehicle restoration and traditional mechanical fault diagnosis.
  • Practical knowledge of workshop machining, fabrication, and automotive electrics.

Responsibilities

  • General mechanics and mechanical fitting.
  • Problem solving and mechanical fault diagnosis (without electrical diagnostic equipment).
  • Working with carburettors, mechanical brakes and manually-timed engines.
  • Precision measurement with micrometers and verniers.
  • Basic machining on lathes and milling machines.
  • Vehicle electrics and basic auto electrical fault finding.
  • Fabrication and welding (basic level).

Mechanic / Technician Required

VBE Restorations is a world class restoration company looking to expand its team. We specialise in Vintage Bentleys built between 1920 and 1931 so this is a unique opportunity to work on heritage vehicles and vintage car restoration projects. We are seeking a highly motivated mechanic / maintenance engineer with a genuine passion for vintage vehicles. This is a hands-on role in vintage car restoration, offering varied work with very little repetition.
