We are looking for smart, confident and tactful person to be our Mayoral Officer to support our Mayor and Mayoress / Consort, Deputy Mayor & Deputy Mayoress / Consort. You would accompany them at functions, meetings and other events, and ensure the Mayor’s proper recognition by acting as announcer and toastmaster if required.
You will drive the civic car and provide a chauffeur service to the Mayor and Mayoress / Consort, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress / Consort. You will be responsible for the civic car and will ensure that the car is in clean and in immaculate order at all times. You will also ensure that servicing and repairs are properly carried out at appropriate times and the vehicle is checked before each engagement.
You will be responsible for the proper care and safekeeping of the Mayoral insignia, e.g. Chains of Office, Sword, Mace, Robes and associated apparel whilst on duty. Ensuring safe custody of the civic robes and regalia, ensuring that they are returned to the appropriate locations for safe keeping after use.
The role will require evening and weekend working to meet the needs of the Mayor’s diary.
