Job summary

A leading manufacturer of electrical components is seeking a Materials Buyer in Leicester. This permanent position offers a salary between £32,000 - £37,000 per annum, along with a quarterly bonus. Responsibilities include ordering materials, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining stock levels. Role : Materials Buyer

Type : Permanent

Pay : £32,000 - £37,000 per annum (DOE) + quarterly bonus

Hours : 38 hours per week, 7:30-16:15 Monday to Thursday, 7:30 – 12:30 on Fridays!

Location : Leicester

I am currently recruiting for a leading manufacturer of electrical components in the Leicester area. My client is looking for a Materials Buyer with a strong work ethic to join their business due to growth in the company.

Materials Buyer - Responsibilities
  • Order materials needed for projects, keeping costs and stock levels low
  • Make sure parts are bought at the best prices and arrive on time for production
  • Find and work with reliable suppliers, negotiating good terms and maintaining strong relationships
  • Look for ways to reduce waste and costs while keeping quality and delivery standards high
  • Follow ISO9001 standard procedures, and support ongoing improvements where required
Materials Buyer - Experience required
  • CIPS qualified
  • Proven track record as a buyer in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications
  • Competent in ERP and MRP systems - EFACS preferred
  • Natural negotiator who communicates effectively
