Material QC Inspector – Major Energy Project

Location: Talacre

Start Date: January 2026

Contract: Outside IR35, Full‑Time (up to 5.5 days/week when required)

Eligibility: Must reside in the UK with full, permanent right-to-work status

The Role

As Material QC Inspector, you will report to the Quality Control Manager and be responsible for technical inspections of all materials, equipment and instrumentation arriving on site. You will ensure compliance with project specifications, industry codes and quality standards while maintaining accurate inspection and certification records throughout the construction and decommissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform QC inspections on all incoming materials and equipment, ensuring correct receipt, condition, handling and storage.
  • Review Purchase Orders and Project Specifications to confirm accuracy, compliance and alignment with project needs.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional checks, verifying material integrity and correct marking.
  • Prepare MRR/MIR documentation and communicate received‑material updates to the client.
  • Ensure all inspections, certifications and project quality records meet Codes, Standards, QC Plans and ITP requirements.
  • Maintain organised, traceable documentation for inclusion in final As‑Built dossiers.
  • Produce Inspection Material Reports, Receiving Inspection Reports and Non‑Conformity Reports.
  • Oversee subcontractor inspection activities, ensuring correct implementation of QC Plans and ITPs and collecting required evidence.
About You
  • 5+ years’ experience in material control or QC inspection on Oil & Gas construction projects.
  • Relevant technical diploma or degree.
  • Strong QC background across structural, mechanical, civil or electrical materials and equipment.
  • International QC certifications (advantageous).
  • Confident using MS365 and Excel.
  • Strong organisational, documentation and communication abilities.
