Job Description

The Materials Controller role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) and is based on site at our Chadderton, Oldham site 5 days a week.

As the Materials Controller, you will be working closely with suppliers to ensure timely material delivery and to meet production schedules and customer demands. This involves addressing daily exception messages, adjusting system parameters, and overseeing on-time, complete deliveries to uphold optimal inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities And Outcomes

• Action all MRP exception messages on a daily basis.
• Manage inventory levels and check for potential risks to supply; escalate to the Supply Chain Engineer (Supplier) and support with the action plan to recovery.
• Build relationships with suppliers to ensure deliveries are received on time in full; participate in Supplier On Time Delivery activities.
• Ensure the status of all purchase orders with suppliers is up to date and closed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Technical knowledge:

Essential

• Experience in the use of ERP systems.
• Experience with and sound knowledge of the basics of inventory management.
• Good level of IT understanding, including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in inventory and material control within a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
• Good attention to detail, with a methodical and logical analytical approach.
