Job description

At Clarion, our people are at the absolute heart of what we do. We’re proud that our core values of PASSION, CARE, IMAGINATION, and TRUST define the way we carry out our work across all of our exhibitions and conferences.

If you share our values and want to be a part of a successful, dynamic, and creative global business then we want to hear from you.

The Opportunity:

The Energy Council and World Refining Association are global membership networks that connect senior energy executives with finance and investment professionals to unlock capital and drive business growth. We do this through award-winning conferences and exclusive networking experiences, with recent events held in London, Houston, New York, Milan, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro, and more.

We’re looking for a highly motivated and creative Marketing Executive to join our London-based team. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll be responsible for producing and executing year-round marketing strategies that promote our conferences to senior-level delegates and sponsors.

You’ll lead the planning and delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including email, website, social media, and content, to generate qualified leads and meet marketing KPIs. Working closely with sales, production, and research teams, you’ll use data and insight to target the right audiences, craft compelling messaging, and ensure all activity is delivered on time and within budget.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, articulate, and detail-oriented marketer with a track record of running effective B2B event marketing campaigns. You’ll be proactive, organised, and comfortable juggling multiple projects to a high standard.

In return, you’ll join a dynamic and supportive team that values creativity, collaboration, and professional growth and many company-wide benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver cross-channel marketing campaigns in line with event and project objectives, working closely with conference producers.
  • Write and proof engaging copy across platforms including websites, email, social media, brochures, and other marketing materials.
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of email campaigns and customer journeys to drive engagement and registrations.
  • Collaborate with the research team to segment data, identify gaps, and support data acquisition and enrichment plans.
  • Maintain and update event websites regularly to ensure timely and accurate content.
  • Monitor and evaluate digital campaign performance, making data-driven recommendations to optimise results and improve ROI.
  • Produce marketing performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Support the design, production, and distribution of promotional materials across the event portfolio.
  • Manage relationships with media and association partners to secure impactful third-party promotions.
  • Maintain and grow social media channels to enhance brand visibility and event awareness.
  • Lead on brand-wide marketing initiatives such as the monthly newsletter and content-focused web pages.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Actively contribute to team and project meetings with ideas, feedback, and suggestions to enhance marketing and overall team performance.

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Experience in B2B event marketing or a similar role, with a strong understanding of campaign planning and execution.
  • Confident managing multiple projects with competing deadlines; proactive and highly organised.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to align marketing activity with sales goals, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to revenue generation.
  • Analytical mindset — able to interpret campaign data, draw insights, and make recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent copywriting and proofreading ability, and the capacity to tailor messaging for different stakeholder groups.
  • A confident and collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • High attention to detail with a creative eye for brand consistency and content quality.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g. Pardot, Salesforce) preferred.
  • Familiarity with CMS tools (e.g. WordPress) and digital marketing best practices across email, web, and social media
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • End of year wellbeing shutdown (closed for the last week of the year)
  • Celebration day off (e.g. birthday, Diwali, Eid, etc)
  • Summer Hours in August (3pm finish on Fridays)
  • Helping Our World (HOW) Days – one paid day per quarter to carry out charity work
  • Pension Scheme
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Health Cash Plan
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – a 24/7, 365-day confidential helpline
  • Subsidised Café
  • Season Ticket Loan
  • Cycle to Work Schemes
  • Free on-site gym and shower facilities
  • Free eyesight tests
  • Free flu vaccination – offered on site once a year for all employees
