What you’ll be doing
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, taking responsibility for the design process across waterfront structures, foundations, and peripheral engineering systems.
- Lead and coordinate design activity from inception to in-service, ensuring compliance with regulations, alignment with client objectives, and delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
- Develop design briefs into detailed Statements of Requirements and manage multi-discipline design teams for major projects.
- Deliver innovative design solutions aligned with sustainability and Net Zero Carbon goals.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, legislation, and regulations, and review/manage subcontractor designs accordingly.
- Prepare documentation including Safe to Operate statements, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Support audits, inspections, and quality processes for project handover; provide regular progress reports, forecasts, and KPIs to senior management.
- Mentor and support junior engineers while fostering a positive team culture.
- Contribute to projects in a unique maritime environment with national significance.
What you need
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering (or sub-discipline).
- Incorporated Engineer or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of the full engineering lifecycle, from inception to delivery.
- Experience in waterfront structures, foundations, reinforced concrete, piling, and peripheral systems (e.g. corrosion control, utilities, dockside assets).
- Knowledge of British Standards, building regulations, and legislation (CDM, LOLER, PUWER, Temporary Works).
- Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Full right to work in the UK.
