Job summary

A leading offshore construction firm in Warrenby is seeking an experienced Marine Advisor to oversee maritime operations for offshore wind construction projects. You will prepare documentation, develop vessel specifications, and provide expertise across engineering and planning teams. The ideal candidate will have a Master Mariner certification and strong operational experience on offshore vessels. This role is on a 6 month contract with potential extension, based primarily in Teesside and involving occasional travel to London.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a senior officer on offshore vessel types.
  • Capability to command an offshore vessel.
  • Strong knowledge of marine operations and vessel specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare scopes of work and documentation for marine operations.
  • Develop vessel specifications for offshore activities.
  • Review technical bid evaluations and proposals.
  • Produce procedures and method statements.
  • Support marine assurance activities.
  • Provide input to offshore engineering methods.

📍 Teesside (Primary Location) | Occasional Travel to South West London Office

💰 Negotiable Day Rate | Outside IR35

⏱️ 6 month contract (extension possible but not guaranteed)

Ceto Talent is supporting a major EPC contractor within the Offshore Wind Business Line, helping deliver safe and efficient marine operations across multiple projects.

We're looking for an experienced Marine Advisor to provide maritime expertise across engineering, procurement, HSE, quality and planning teams, ensuring all vessel and offshore operations are carried out to the highest standard. Your role will sit within the Installation Methods department.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prepare scopes of work and documentation for vessels used in project marine operations
  • Develop vessel specifications required for offshore activities
  • Review technical bid evaluations and proposals
  • Produce procedures and method statements
  • Support marine assurance activities
  • Provide input to offshore engineering methods and execution strategies involving marine and vessel operations
  • Take part in HAZIDs, HAZOPs and other formal risk assessment processes
What We're Looking For
  • Master Mariner STCW II/2 (Unrestricted) OR CoC with command experience preferred. Lower CoC considered with a relevant degree
  • Proven experience as a senior officer on offshore vessel types, with strong operational experience
  • Must be capable of commanding an offshore vessel
  • Able to work primarily in Teesside with occasional travel to the South West London office
