Job summary

A key engineering recruiting partner is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer in Bolton. This role involves supporting multi-project manufacturing by updating instructions, managing configurations, and resolving technical issues. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience, a relevant apprenticeship or HNC, and strong skills in interpreting design drawings. This position offers £35 per hour with an initial contract of 12 months and standard hours from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • 5 years' experience within an engineering discipline.
  • Ability to produce manufacturing build instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators.
  • Understanding customer requirements and company procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Update Manufacturing Instructions for various projects.
  • Support industrial validation using FMEAs and FAIs.
  • Manage configuration control with design modifications.
  • Resolve technical problems during manufacturing.

Skills

Ability to interpret design drawings
Experience in electronic sub-assembly manufacture
Knowledge of assembly process for electro-mechanical systems
Problem-solving during manufacturing processes
Usage of SAP for non-conformance processes

Education

Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3
HNC or equivalent in engineering discipline

Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly and Integration)

Bolton • £35 per hour • Initially 12 months • 1‑stage interview • Mon‑Fri

Certain Advantage is working in partnership with a large engineering company that operates within the aerospace industry and is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. As a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will carry out activities in support of multi‑project manufacturing.

What will you be doing?
  • Compilation and update of Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Design, commissioning and proving of associated tooling.
  • Support the industrial validation process through the use of FMEAs, FAIs etc.
  • Resolution of technical problems that may arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Route card changes as a result of rework activities.
  • Management of configuration control by the embodiment of design modifications into the Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Support the non‑conformance process using SAP.
A couple of things you should know
  • Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and level 3 (ONC)
  • OR Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent certificate with experience within an engineering discipline
  • 5 years' experience within an engineering discipline.
  • Have the ability to interpret design drawings to produce manufacturing build instructions for both skilled and semi‑skilled operators.
  • Have experience in electronic sub‑assembly manufacture through to system level builds.
  • Have experience and knowledge of the assembly process for small/miniature electro‑mechanical actuation systems.
  • Recognise and understand customer requirements and respond to them.
  • Understand and work to the company processes and procedures.
