  • Improve OEE through downtime reduction and process improvements.

Salary: Up to £50,000 + Benefits


We're supporting a long-established global manufacturer in their search for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join their advanced facility in Cheadle. Operating in the automotive, aerospace, and vehicle sectors, this role plays a key part in driving production performance, supporting new product introductions, and leading continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Own and optimise CHRA, VSR, and final assembly equipment performance and availability
  • Deliver day-to-day engineering support and resolve production issues
  • Improve OEE through downtime reduction and process improvements
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.
  • Support NPI via APQP, PPAP, PEP, and ODT testing
  • Create and maintain SOPs, setup sheets, FMEAs, and control plans
  • Ensure compliance with IATF16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001
  • Specify, procure, and maintain tooling and equipment (PUWER compliant)
  • Control capital budgets and manage OPEX projects
  • Collaborate with OE plants and design engineering during NPI
Requirements
  • Degree in or equivalent
  • Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in manufacturing/product engineering (automotive preferred)
  • Knowledge of PLC systems, pneumatics, electrical systems (essential)
  • Tooling/fixturing design skills (preferred)
  • Green Belt required; Black Belt / Lean Expert a plus
  • IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification (desirable)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Turbocharger manufacturing experience is a bonus
