A heritage charity organization is seeking a Manager for its Felixstowe Museum and Landguard Fort. This full-time position involves managing daily operations, engaging volunteers, and ensuring a positive experience for visitors. Ideal candidates will have strong organizational skills and experience in cash handling. The role offers a salary between £28,000 and £30,000, with flexible working conditions. The Post Holder will be pivotal in duty management, effective volunteer engagement and a positive visitor experience. The role will work to bring Felixstowe Museum and Landguard Fort together by applying their skills across both sites.
Felixstowe Museum, a former submarine mining station (1878) sits on the Landguard Peninsula between the Fort and the Port. The Museum houses both permanent and temporary collections across 14 display rooms. Landguard Fort tells the story of the building as well as the people who served there. Both the Museum and Landguard Fort are owned by English Heritage but run by charitable trusts.
Between both sites they have c.30,000 visitors a year. Both charities are part of a wider partnership, the Landguard and Felixstowe Conservation Trust (Landguard Trust).
