Description

Ready to take the next step in your finance career? We’re looking for a Management Accountant to join our dynamic, multi‑sited team and play a key role in shaping the future of our business. You’ll be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts for the group, while also handling daily technical accounting matters, regular tax topics, and delivering accurate reporting that supports strategic decision‑making. If you’re proactive, detail‑oriented, and eager to make an impact, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership and reconciliation of GHG Group company balance sheets
  • To engage with budget holders, management and operational teams to provide financial analysis, provide support, and recommendations.
  • To prepare and submit GHG group monthly VAT submissions to HMRC.
  • KPI production
  • To seek process efficiencies and opportunities to maximise profitability and cash.
  • To prepare short‑term cash flows for the group
  • To ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
  • To be the main contact for the finance team on operational activity, particularly payroll.
  • To supervise Group payroll processes, PAYE submissions, associated finance postings and control accounts.
  • To supervise Group accounts payable and receivable processes, responsibility for daily cash management and reconciliations, including Group CID facilities.
  • To prepare monthly management accounts and the related management reports.
  • Documenting and maintaining own procedures and processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Qualified, or nearly qualified accountant (ACCA/ ACA / CIMA).
  • Happy to travel fortnightly to our Ely site to build strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Proven ability to apply accounting methods and practices.
  • Able to work under pressure under own initiative, or within a team.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to identify opportunities and issues, resolve and support the business.
  • Able to communicate accounting topics effectively to non-finance people.
  • Approachable and service orientated.
  • Good practical MS Office skills/experience.
