Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, consumer-focused business based in North Yorkshire to recruit a commercially astute Management Accountant. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and drive real impact across the business.

The Role

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting, while also acting as a business partner to department heads. This is a hands-on role with a strong commercial edge, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly cost centre meetings with department heads, presenting financials and challenging variances to budget.
  • Prepare monthly P&L for review, ensuring accurate posting of costs and revenues.
  • Deliver clear and concise commentary on P&L performance for inclusion in board reporting.
  • Reallocate centrally posted costs across selling channels, ensuring fair apportionment.
  • Produce detailed contribution-level P&Ls for each selling channel and present findings to the Commercial Director.
  • Own key balance sheet reconciliations, including debtor and intercompany accounts.
  • Post accruals and prepayments with full backup and reconciliation to accounting software.
  • Support the year-end audit process.
  • Lead the annual overheads budgeting process and present to senior management.
  • Line manage and mentor an Assistant Accountant.
  • Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
About You

You'll be a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong management accounting experience and a proactive, business partnering mindset. You'll be confident presenting financials to non-finance stakeholders and have a keen eye for detail and process improvement.
