Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts including variance analysis.
  • Oversee month-end reconciliations.
  • Support the annual budget cycle.
  • Act as the main contact for external auditors.
  • Liaise with tax and compliance teams for regulatory obligations.

Overview

We’re working with a well-established and successful business that’s seeking to appoint a Management Accountant to strengthen its finance team. About You
  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience preparing management accounts and reports to a high standard
  • Strong Excel and systems skills, with knowledge of ERP systems (SAGE500 desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving and process improvement
Your Responsibilities

Always:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) to review stage, including variance analysis and resolving queries
  • Oversee month-end reconciliations, including intercompany accounts
  • Support the annual budget cycle, collaborating with budget holders and stakeholders
  • Contribute to overhead cost forecasting

Often:

  • Act as the main contact for external auditors, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of year-end requirements
  • Liaise with tax and compliance teams to support regulatory obligations (e.g. HMRC filings, government returns)
  • Lead or contribute to finance projects such as process improvements, transfer pricing updates, or policy changes
  • Manage and maintain finance systems to ensure accurate and reliable reporting

Occasionally:

  • Contribute to strategic finance projects and system enhancements
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support broader business initiatives

Never:

  • Wonder if you’ve got the flexibility you need, with hybrid working arrangements already in place
  • Changing the tyre on your managers car, unless you want to.
