A leading NHS Trust in Cornwall is seeking a Major Trauma Rehab Coordinator to support the Major Trauma Service. The role involves ensuring compliance with rehabilitation assessments, educating staff on trauma care, and supporting safe discharge planning for patients. Ideal candidates must be registered nurses or allied health professionals with knowledge of the Cornwall trauma service. We are seeking to recruit a major trauma rehab coordinator into our Major Trauma Service here at RCHT. Applications are welcome from AHP's and registered nurses.
The Major Trauma Service at RCHT provides excellent care to our population in Cornwall. The team use their extended knowledge of Major Trauma care and rehabilitation to provide specialist care at the bedside. Over the years the Major Trauma service at RCHT has carved a significant reputation for excellence across the peninsula network, with huge improvements in patient care both in the acute and rehab stage of their injuries.
The right candidate must have good knowledge regarding the major trauma service in Cornwall and we fit into the wider trauma network in the Southwest and beyond.
The Major Trauma Services provides both prehospital and interhospital outreach to candidate Major Trauma Patients as identified on clinical criteria set out by the National Major Trauma Registry. The service is commissioned to ensure that the trust meets the national quality indicators as set out by NHSE and this is reviewed by external audit and peer review.
To ensure the compliance of rehabilitation assessments and completion of rehabilitation prescriptions to ensure that patients are supported throughout their trauma care.
To support non medical clinical staff to enact safe discharge planning.
To education ward staff in regards to trauma care.
