Job description
Overview

To grow in this role, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are key. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, is curious about the industry, and is open to suggesting new ideas. Some experience in a manufacturing environment would be helpful, but not essential. You’ll be following detailed work instructions with care and attention to quality, while also using your problem-solving skills when things aren’t fully documented or are changing.

What You’ll Do
  • Inspect and handle electronic (PCBA) and mechanical components with care and precision.
  • Assemble and test electro-mechanical sub-systems, supporting the build of satellite systems.
  • Assist with system-level integration and testing alongside experienced team members.
  • Maintain accurate records and quality documentation.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback to improve designs and assembly processes.
  • Support troubleshooting and help develop practical testing solutions.
  • Contribute to investigation reports on technical issues, with support from senior engineers.
What You Bring
  • A degree, HND, or equivalent practical experience in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience (from work, projects, or education) in assembling and testing electronic or mechanical parts.
  • A collaborative mindset with the confidence to ask questions and share ideas.
  • The ability to understand and follow technical drawings and instructions, with training provided where needed.
  • A keen eye for detail, a proactive attitude, and pride in delivering high-quality work.
Nice to Have (But Not Essential)
  • Familiarity with industry standards like IPC or J-Standard for component handling (we offer training!).
  • Experience in a fast-moving production or lab environment.
  • Basic knowledge of RF, Digital, or Power electronics is a plus.
  • An interest in learning software tools or scripting for testing purposes.
  • A mindset that values openness, continuous learning, and teamwork.
  • Enthusiasm for improving how things are done—your fresh ideas are welcome.
Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a supportive team where diverse perspectives are valued, and mentorship is part of the culture. We’re actively working towards a more balanced and inclusive environment. Whether you’re just starting your career or looking to grow your hands-on experience, this is a place where your work will have a real impact—building technology that reaches space.

Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work five days per week in the office.

Access to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be required for this role. If needed, Spire will arrange the necessary licenses—this is not something candidates need to have before applying.
