Job Advert – Shift Engineering Team Leader

Are you a hands-on engineering leader with a passion for driving performance, reliability, and safety?
Brett Landscaping and Building Products are seeking a Shift Engineering Team Leader to play a key role in ensuring our production facilities run at world-class efficiency.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead, mentor, and support the maintenance team to deliver peak equipment performance.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Drive improvements in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) through proactive maintenance.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and promote best practices in SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment).
  • Collaborate across departments to support production targets and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
  • Time-served mechanical/electrical apprenticeship (minimum Level 3 qualification).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Experience in maintenance of industrial/manufacturing plant (preferably precast concrete equipment).
  • Problem-solving mind-set with strong fault diagnosis skills.
  • Excellent communication and team-building ability.
  • Commitment to high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.

Desirable: HNC/ONC qualification, 18th Edition, PLC knowledge, and experience in lean manufacturing.
