About the Role

As Maintenance Manager, this key leadership role will see you lead and manage our on-site maintenance team to improve the performance of our machines, health & safety, and as part of the leadership team, act as their subject matter expert for all things technical at the plant. With a focus on strategy, you’ll be developing short, medium, and long-term plans for the site from a technical perspective to enable us to innovate, to continuously improve and to reduce costs.

You’ll get the chance to build relationships with your team, coach them to improve performance, and share your insight to improve their technical knowledge and allow them to improve their fault-finding abilities.

Working with the Production team, you will develop, train, lead and ensure workmanship standards are met to increase reliability, safety and performance of all manufacturing processes and equipment, effectively on time to budget.

Duties will also include:

  • Develop and drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • Deliver improvement through preventative maintenance programmes
  • Manage and develop our stores system
  • Develop the maintenance strategy for the plant to ensure optimum manufacturing performance always
  • Support development and delivery of the capital expenditure requirements
  • Lead by example, drive and adhere to health, safety and environmental working practices in accordance with Wienerberger policies and procedures and legal requirements
  • Develop and drive a culture of continuous improvement in the maintenance department, in order to bring around operational transformation and culture change

Hours of Work: 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday

About You
  • Qualified in electrical and / or mechanical engineering
  • Health & Safety focused, IOSH Managing Safety qualified
  • Experienced Maintenance Manager / Head of Engineering with a proven track record of delivering Best Practice reliability and maintenance solutions working in a fast-moving continuous manufacturing environment managing a team of multi-skilled engineers
  • Extensive experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Extensive experience developing best practice stores layout and management
  • Strong people management, organisational and project management skills
  • Good strategic planning skills
