We are a friendly family run business with several Nursing and Residential Care Homes and we currently have opportunities available for a General Handyman to join our team in Cheltenham.

Requirements

  • Any additional skills including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and decorating are welcomed.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety.
Role
  • Responsible for the internal and external proactive and reactive repairs of the home ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all Residents, Staff & Visitors.
  • Carry out minor repairs as required; furniture; replacing bulbs; basic plumbing (including changing taps, replacing toilets, unblocking sinks, drains etc); minor electrical repairs (i.e. call bells, fuses, sockets); decorating, refurbishing and upkeep of rooms.
  • Assisting with Deliveries and Goods In / Out.
  • Moving furniture and assisting with preparing rooms to let.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the driveway and entrance to the home including some gardening as required.
  • Carry out weekly, monthly & bi-annual compliance checks in line with Government guidelines and legislation.
  • Overtime can occasionally be available.
  • On call responsibility will be required and is shared via a rota.
  • 20 hours per week, over 5 days.
  • Flexibility is useful as occasional weekend days may be required.
