Schedule: Monday to Friday

Overview

An established manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations within a fast‑paced, high‑volume production environment. The role involves leading a team of technicians, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of machinery and facilities. The client is involved in plastics/injection moulding, making waste refuse bins; thus plastic injection moulding experience is essential. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling technical challenges, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a busy manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the maintenance team to ensure equipment and facilities are kept in safe, efficient working order.
  • Plan and prioritise maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and support production targets.
  • Conduct and facilitate root cause analysis to address equipment failures and implement long‑term corrective actions.
  • Oversee budgets, spare parts control, and external contractor or supplier relationships.
  • Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Champion initiatives that enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance management role within plastics, injection moulding, or a similar manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of injection moulding machinery, automation/robotics systems, and associated utilities.
  • Practical experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLC fault‑finding.
  • Confident leader with the ability to coach, support, and develop technical staff.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Engineering qualifications or technical certification desirable.
