Job description

Nights Maintenance Engineer £44,000
Shift: Sunday Thursday, 10pm 6am
Salary: £44,000 + Benefits (24 days holiday + BH, pension, free parking, supportive training & development)

The Role
We are seeking a proactive Nights Maintenance Engineer to join our Division in Birmingham. Working closely with another engineer on-site, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our production line. This role offers a clear path to progress into a Lead Engineer position within 2 3 years, as our current lead is approaching retirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) (60%) and reactive maintenance (40%)

  • Utilise our bespoke CMMS system (Rhombus) to log, record, and monitor maintenance activities

  • Work on a wide range of machinery including:

    • 6-axis robots

    • Motors, sensors, conveyors, belts, bearings & chains

    • Paint lines, paint sprayers & extraction booths

  • Ensure timely breakdown response to keep production running smoothly

  • Support continuous improvements across site maintenance and reliability

What We re Looking For

  • A multi-skilled engineer ideally electrically biased, but strong mechanical skills (70/30 split considered)

  • Recognised UK engineering qualifications (apprentice trained, HNC, NVQ, military background considered)

  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on nights

  • Strong team player with excellent communication you ll be working closely with one other engineer

  • Motivated, hardworking, and open to stepping into a leadership role in the near future
