Job summary

A well-established engineering company in Wrexham is seeking an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer for a full-time, permanent role. You will join a proactive team to perform maintenance on a fully automated production site. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, an electrical qualification, and experience in manufacturing or FMCG environments. The role includes both reactive and planned maintenance and offers a shift pattern of 4 on and 4 off days and nights.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions.

Overview

Location: Wrexham • Salary: £48,000 • Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off days and nights • Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Role

A proactive and electrically biased Maintenance Engineer is required to join a well-established engineering team at a fully automated, SCADA-controlled production site operating 24/7. You\'ll work as part of a team of 3 engineers per shift, ensuring plant and equipment run reliably and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of plant and machinery
• Support optimal machine performance and reduce downtime
• Perform routine site walkarounds for general facility checks (leaks, alarms, switches)
• Mechanical work including replacing beater bars, bearings, chains, belts, sprockets, and ensuring proper alignment
• Assist in commissioning new production lines

Ideal Candidate

• Electrically biased with strong mechanical competence
• Electrical Qualification
• PLC fault-finding experience
• Comfortable working at height and in physically demanding conditions
• Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
