Job description

Maintenance Engineer with electrical bias required to join an established Telford-based food company, supporting machine and facilities maintenance and installation tasks. The role offers a competitive salary of GBP 42,000, working early day shifts. The successful candidate will cover a wide range of tasks as the company continues to improve its production processes and supports production through effective planned maintenance.

Location: Telford, working Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm, with occasional shift cover required.

As a Maintenance Engineer, You Will
  1. Conduct preventative maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Respond promptly to emergency machine breakdowns across the plant and provide effective solutions.
  3. Oversee new designs, installations, and movements of machinery, ensuring all equipment is safe, efficient, and fit for purpose.
  4. Assist the Engineering Manager and deputise when required, ensuring smooth operations in their absence.
  5. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene in the engineering stores and workshop.
  6. Collaborate with the factory team to develop strong relationships and provide technical support to production departments.
What You Will Bring
  1. A recognised Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship and 18th Edition qualification.
  2. Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with an electrical bias, ideally within a food production environment.
  3. Experience with automation/PLC systems.
  4. Knowledge of BRC standards.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
  6. A commitment to health and safety best practices and attention to detail.

You will have current or recent experience in similar roles such as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, shift maintenance engineer, electrical maintenance engineer, or service engineer.
