Overview

Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Stockport

Salary: £44,000

Shift: Monday to Friday Days based shift role. This consists of 4 rotating shifts: 05:00am-13:00pm, 06:00am-14:00pm, 14:00pm-22:00pm, 15:00pm-23:00pm. This rotates on a weekly basis. No weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production and site equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Use PLCs and laptop based systems for fault finding on automated machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records using both paper and digital systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in CI projects.
  • Liaise with production teams and coach operators to improve performance.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, housekeeping, and asset care.
  • Support apprentices and contribute to capital and improvement projects.
Person Specification
  • Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Electrical qualification required.
  • Minimum 1 year s experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally in food, FMCG, or a process industry.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault diagnosis skills.
  • Working knowledge of Lean tools and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and team-working abilities.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to interpret technical documentation.
  • Flexible, hands-on approach with a focus on high performance and safety.
