Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical or Electrical Bias (Rotating Shift)

Location: Bedfordshire (commutable from: Bedford, Cambridge, Stevenage, Letchworth, Hitchin, Baldock, Sandy, St Neots, Huntingdon etc.).

Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility, and a rotating shift pattern that provides real freedom with your time?

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, hands-on engineer who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and takes pride in keeping equipment running at its best.

You'll be working a 12-hour rotating shift pattern, averaging 42 hours per week, giving you plenty of time off to balance work and life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out both mechanical and electrical maintenance in line with safety, quality, and site standards.
  • Undertake planned, preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Fault-find, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost reliability and performance.
  • Work closely with production teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure safe systems of work are always followed.
  • Support colleagues through knowledge sharing, training, and coaching.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a relevant Level 3 engineering qualification (essential).
  • Ideally multi-skilled, with either a mechanical or electrical bias.
  • Experienced in maintenance within a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • A problem solver who can remain calm under pressure.
  • A collaborative team player who also works well independently.
  • Flexible, safety-conscious, and proactive in identifying improvements.
