Responsibilities
  • Delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of heavy plant and machinery.
  • Quickly diagnosing and resolving mechanical or electrical faults to minimise downtime.
  • Playing a hands-on part in continuous improvement, reliability, and efficiency projects.
  • Supporting major shutdowns, upgrades, and long-term capex investments.
  • Working within a high-performing engineering team where safety, quality, and teamwork come first.
Qualifications
  • A time-served Mechanical OR Electrical Engineer (apprenticeship, HNC, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Solid background in heavy industry, steel, glass, chemical, cement, or similar manufacturing sectors.
  • Comfortable with 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shifts in a continuous production environment (2D, 2N).
  • A natural problem solver with the drive to keep things moving and the confidence to take ownership of issues.
