Overview

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Location: Hayes • Salary: £44,000 – £48,000 • Shift Pattern: 4-on / 4-off (Days Only – 6am to 6pm)

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our high-performing engineering team at a fast-paced FMCG site. Working with modern, automated, high-speed packaging machinery, you’ll play a key role in ensuring production efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement on the factory floor. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on high-speed packaging and production lines.
• Deliver effective fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Support the drive for improved OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and implement root cause analysis for recurring issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and site projects.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and optimise performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Previous experience in an FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environment (preferred).
• NVQ Level 3 / HNC in Engineering (desirable).
• Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
