Maintenance Engineer - Burton-on-Trent (DE14)

4 on 4 off (12-hour shifts, 6-6) - 6% Pension + Private Healthcare + Overtime + 22 Shifts Holiday

ATA are supporting a rapidly growing automated logistics solutions business supplying cutting-edge technology to major UK retailers. With state-of-the-art automated systems, a strong training structure, and excellent long-term career prospects, this is a superb opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-expanding engineering team at a highly successful, future-focused site.

What you'll be doing

As a Maintenance Engineer , you'll be responsible for maintaining, fault finding, and repairing a wide range of automated equipment across a high-volume logistics environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Reactive and planned maintenance on EVO shuttles, high-speed conveyors, Pick-to-Light robotic systems, carton erectors, shuttle systems, strappers, lifts, and box-making machinery.
  • Electrical fault finding on sensors, limit switches, proximities, control panels, three-phase systems, motors, inverters, and safety circuits.
  • Mechanical work including bearings, belts, gearboxes, shafts, pneumatics, and like-for-like rebuilds.
  • Using a tablet-based CMMS to manage PPMs, breakdowns, stores, and job logging.
  • Customer-facing communication across radio, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Support from hotline/remote PLC teams, so no PLC programming experience required.

The successful Maintenance Engineer will work in a hands-on role with approximately one hour of computer-based logging and CMMS administration each shift.
