Job description
Overview

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an FMCG background looking for a new opportunity? We have a role working for an exciting company in Ashford, Kent.

As an Engineer, this role is responsible for the reactive, preventative and planned repair and maintenance to all onsite plant. All these works must be conducted in a safe manner. This includes areas such as packing hall production lines, dry & cold stores, site facilities including the cooling tower & production wastewater plant and refrigeration equipment, ensuring safe efficient operation. Potentially working as the only engineer on a shift with full responsibility for the engineering elements onsite working alongside the Production Shift Supervisor.

Location: Ashford, Kent. Shift patterns available: Night Shift and Day Shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct reactive, preventative and planned maintenance on all onsite plant and equipment.
  • Ensure all activities are performed safely and in compliance with site procedures.
  • Operate as the lead engineer on shift, taking full responsibility for engineering elements onsite on the assigned shift.
  • Collaborate with production staff to minimize downtime and optimize line performance.
Shifts
  • 1 x Night Shift: Sundays to Thursdays, 22:00 – 06:00 (hours per week as stated).
  • 2 x Double Days: Week 1 – Mon to Fri, 06:00 – 14:00; Week 2 – Mon to Fri, 14:00 – 22:00, total hours per week as stated.
What do you need?
  • Approved UK engineering apprenticeship scheme.
  • 17th / 18th Edition BS 7671 Electrical Wiring Regulations.
  • Fault finding experience on PLCs/SCADA/Power & Control circuits/Pneumatics/Mechanical drive conveyor systems.
  • Computer literate (Word / Excel etc.).
  • MEWP/IPAF licences (current).
  • Experience in food manufacturing packing/weighing and vertical sealers is highly desirable.
