Qualifications

Role

Maintenance Caretaker

17.5 hours per week

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Caretaker to join our Accommodation Management Team based in NHS Colchester, Colchester.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience working in a maintenance role completing minor maintenance repairs and site housekeeping tasks.

Working alongside individual teams and taking instructions from the Management Team, you will be responsible for providing a safe and well-maintained environment for NHS key workers.

Responsibilities
  • Reacting to maintenance duties across the site, undertaking repairs and reporting issues which require specialist attention
  • Undertaking building checks and audits to maintain a safe and secure environment in line with health and safety requirements
  • Carrying out routine works and providing accurate and timely information on progress
  • Maintaining an adequate supply of stock and replenishing as appropriate
  • Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and cleanliness is maintained
Skills and experience
  • Experience within a caretaking or cleaning role is essential
  • Practical skills in identifying and/or carrying out standard repairs
  • Working knowledge of health and safety
  • Good communication skills allowing you to provide great customer service
  • Ability to interpret written instructions, maintain simple written records and assess priorities to then a plan work schedule effectively
