M&E Project Engineer Water
Location: Bristol
Rate: up to £400 a day
Duration: 6 months +
We are assisting our client, a leading organisation in the water sector, with the appointment of an M&E Project Engineer to support MEICA project delivery at a major water recycling facility in Bristol. This role sits within an in-house engineering team and links design with on-site delivery, working closely with project managers, commercial and operational stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and build ability input across design, procurement and construction phases
- Act as the technical point of contact for mechanical and electrical matters, including DSEAR considerations
- Review designs for suitability, safety, sustainability and value for money, ensuring compliance with internal standards and procurement rules
- Support site installation teams during construction and handover to secure quality outcomes and efficiencies
- Lead sustainable procurement of M&E equipment against cost and programme targets
- Contribute to technical content for contracts and subcontracts and liaise with suppliers to meet quality and schedule
- Check the technical validity of estimates and commercial forecasts
- Plan and coordinate site surveys and visits to enable accurate design delivery
- Monitor progress, risks and reporting to the Project Manager
- Compile and verify O&M manuals and completion documentation
About you
- Enthusiastic engineer with a solid grounding in mechanical and electrical principles and a desire to keep learning
- Strong communicator, comfortable challenging and proposing better ways of working
- Well organised with the ability to plan your own workload
- Commercially aware with an understanding of contractual frameworks
Desired experience
- Water industry background is advantageous
- Knowledge of CDM and DSEAR, ideally with CompEx exposure
Qualifications
- HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
- Professional registration or active progress towards it is desirable
