Job summary

A National Health Service in Scotland is looking for a Specialist Pharmacist in Primary Care to support GP practices and manage medicines across Aberdeenshire. The position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities. Candidates should be registered pharmacists with good communication and time management skills. Qualifications

  • Full driving licence is essential.

Overview

Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership Specialist Pharmacist Primary Care Band 7 – We have opportunities available within Aberdeenshire Marr cluster. Full Time/Part Time Opportunities (min 3 days) Monday – Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for registered pharmacists to join Pharmacotherapy teams working across Aberdeenshire. The post holders will join a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and be key to the ongoing provision of the pharmacotherapy service and promoting quality, cost-effective prescribing of medicines.

Responsibilities
  • Support GP practices and community hospitals, covering all aspects of medicines management in line with local and national guidelines.
  • Be part of a multidisciplinary pharmacotherapy team to maintain and develop the pharmacotherapy service.
  • Work across a wide area with onsite GP practice and/or remote working as agreed; bases and area of work discussed at interview.
Qualifications and experience
  • Registered pharmacist with experience in Primary Care, medicines management and audit would be an advantage.
  • You may have a community or hospital pharmacy background.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills are essential.
  • Independent Prescriber training would be supported if not already achieved.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
Work pattern and locations

Postholders will work across Aberdeenshire HSCP locations; options include Inverurie, Ellon or alternate locations as available.

Remuneration and terms

Specialist Pharmacist Primary Care, Band 7. Full Time/Part Time Opportunities (minimum 3 days), Monday–Friday.
