Long Term Conditions Specialist Podiatrist

Are you an experienced and motivated podiatrist with a passion for improving outcomes for patients with long-term conditions? We have an exciting opportunity for a Long Term Conditions Specialist Podiatrist to join our dedicated and forward-thinking team.

The post holder will act as a clinical specialist for patients with long term conditions which puts them at high risk of tissue and function loss and for patients' tissue viability within the team. You will lead on and educate your colleagues and junior staff regarding peripheral vascular disease and tissue viability and be the main contact for this area within your team. The job will entail specialist skills in wound management and sharp debridement of difficult/necrotic wounds and vascular assessments including ABPIs and toe pressures.

Main duties of the job
  • To be responsible for the management of the day-to-day clinical provision of Foot Health Services for your clinics
  • To assist the Clinical Lead Podiatrist in delivering appropriate equitable and effective Foot Health Services.
  • To have a leadership role in developing the Foot Health Service for patients and our team members.
  • To undertake clinical supervision with staff members designated to you
  • To be actively involved in induction of new staff to the team.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification
  • BSc Degree In Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior 1991)
  • Evidence of continual professional and personal development
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Certificate in local anaesthesia
  • Evidence of post grad training in specialist area of podiatry
Experience
  • Post graduate clinical experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
  • Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease / pathology types including the at-risk and high-risk foot
  • Experience of working as part of a specialist team (clinical rotation experience accepted
  • Experience of working in an NHS environment
  • Experience of clinical supervision / mentoring
