Join Biffa's team in a vital, office-based role supporting our logistics operations across West Sussex.

We're looking for an organised Logistics Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations of our logistics team across West Sussex. In this key role, you'll ensure safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and customers. You'll drive performance, maximise collection productivity, and help meet or exceed service targets while ensuring all legal and contractual requirements are fulfilled.

Your core responsibilities.
  • Plan & Optimise Routes: Create efficient daily driver schedules to maximise deliveries and reduce transit times.
  • Balance Workloads: Assign drivers based on availability and route demand for smooth, reliable operations.
  • Fleet Management: Monitor vehicles, coordinate maintenance, and respond to breakdowns to keep the fleet running.
  • Compliance & Records: Maintain accurate transport and safety documentation to meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Road Safety & Incidents: Promote safe driving, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Oversee safety checks, inspections, and issue resolution across all transport operations.
  • Admin & Customer Support: Manage enquiries, office tasks, and contract administration efficiently.
  • On-Call Support: Provide out-of-hours assistance to handle urgent operational issues and maintain service continuity.
Requirements
