A healthcare provider in Ashford is seeking a Consultant in Medical Microbiology/Infection to deliver clinical microbiology services. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care, work with a multidisciplinary team, and have opportunities for professional growth. This full-time role entails participating in clinical duties and collaborating with various medical professionals. A supportive environment is ensured across the Trust's multiple sites.
Applications are invited from existing Consultants or Specialist Registrars for a Locum fixed-term, full-time 11 PA replacement Consultant in Medical Microbiology/Infection for East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. Part-time (minimum 0.5 WTE) will be considered.
The appointee will be part of a clinical infection team and will be supported by a multidisciplinary team of laboratory staff. The Trust operates three main sites: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford), Kent & Canterbury Hospital (Canterbury), and the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital (Margate). The microbiology laboratory is located at William Harvey Hospital; microbiology services operate across all three sites.
There is an opportunity to engage with the Kent and Medway Pathology Network, a formal partnership of seven laboratories across four acute trusts. The network aims to form a joint venture and develop shared IT, procurement and digital projects. You will have opportunities to grow your career within the network and contribute to a network academy for education and training. You will not be required to work outside EKHUFT, but there may be opportunities for collaborative work within the network.
