Overview

We are looking for a consultant experienced in Paediatric Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Imaging in children. The postholder will be expected to perform, analyse and report echocardiograms for children (from newborn to teen age) with a large variety of heart conditions. This includes conventional transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography as well as clinical application of modern echocardiographic imaging modalities such as 3D echocardiography and tissue deformation imaging. Experience in fetal cardiology is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Independently run paediatric cardiology clinics and advanced echocardiography clinics.
• Perform, analyse and report echocardiograms for paediatric patients (newborn to teen age).
• Participate in the consultant on-call rota.
• Join joint cardiac and surgical weekly meetings; participate in a wide range of educational meetings.
• Run or be involved in clinical research.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be registered with the GMC at the time of application.
• Experience in Paediatric Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Imaging in children.
• Experience in fetal cardiology is desirable.
