Job Summary

We are looking for a competent IREF Lead Technician who can lead diagnosis and repairs of system malfunctions, requiring specific technical knowledge and relevant qualifications as well as an understanding of time and equipment requirements. You will act as a subject expert, keep customers informed on the nature of the service provided, outstanding issues, recommend system enhancements/upgrade, and provide the customer with advice/training in system operations as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead diagnosis and repairs of system malfunctions.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships, ensuring proactive feedback and documentation of the customer’s equipment and system status/work completed.
  • Provide technical coaching to less experienced service team members.
  • Coordinate on‑site work activity for highly complex and multi‑person jobs, including overseeing activities of subcontractors.
  • Act as a subject expert and keep customers informed of service nature and recommended system enhancements/upgrade.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant qualifications in the specific trade (e.g., BAS/BNS, HVAC, Refrigeration).
  • Complex product knowledge and advanced system knowledge within Industrial Refrigeration.
  • Ammonia certification is essential.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Experience working with HFC, Ammonia & CO2 systems.
  • Experience with major manufacturers such as SABROE, Frick, York, Bitzer, Howden.
  • Experience with DX, pumped, flooded, multistage systems.
Location

Scotland, predominantly within the Glasgow region.
