INTERNAL APPLICANTS MUST APPLY VIA MYSELF

We are looking for outgoing and approachable Library Assistant to join the team in providing a modern library service to the community. Duties include delivering children’s activities such as Book bug sessions, Chatter books, reader development activities, supporting public access to IT, general front line customer services and operating the library management systems.

Educated to good general standard, you should have good interpersonal skills combined with relevant customer service experience of working with a wide range of customers. You should also have good IT skills, be able to lift and carry stock, and ideally have an interest in books and reading. You must also be mobile within North Lanarkshire if required to travel to other work locations.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.

Work Patterns Available

Wishaw Library

Post 1 (16 hours)

Week 1 – Wednesday 9am to 4pm, Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm (19hrs)

Week 2 – Wednesday 9am to 4pm, Friday 9am to 5pm

Post 2 (9 hours)

Week 1 – Tuesday 9am to 1pm, Saturday 12pm to 5pm

Newmains Library

Post 3 (9 hours)

Week1 – Thursday 2pm to 7pm and Friday 10am to 2pm
