Overview

An exciting opportunity to work within the Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council Library Service as part of the Growth, Enterprise, and Environment Directorate. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic person to join a newly developed and evolving Library Service, delivering innovative and outstanding service to the community.

Responsibilities
  • Work in front-facing services, ideally within a Libraries or customer service environment.
  • Plan, promote, and deliver fun and engaging events and activities.
  • Be a team player and also self-motivated to help develop the service further.
  • Be flexible to work across different service locations within the borough, including late nights (7pm closing) and Saturday shifts as required.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Minimum of Grade 3 (equivalent to Grade E or above) at GCSE English and Maths or an Entry Level 3 qualification in English and Maths; commit to working towards the Level 2 qualification.
  • Apprenticeship opportunities open to anyone over the age of 16 with no upper age limit.
  • Be prepared for a rota that may include different locations and patterns.
  • The interview process may include a variety of activities (interview, assessment centre, role play, and group work).
  • Fixed-term contract for 15 months. National Minimum Wage for your age will apply after the first year if over 19 years of age.
