Job summary

A temporary staffing agency is seeking an LGV Driver for a role with Rotherham Council in waste and recycling services. Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a LGV Driver to join Rotherham Council on a temporary basis for 3 months.

LGV Driver – Waste & Recycling Services

Hours : Up to 39.5 hours per week (including daily vehicle checks)

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 06 : 45 start.

In this vital frontline position, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste and recyclables from both residential and commercial properties. Working as part of a small crew, you’ll lead by example to ensure high service standards and excellent customer care.

What You’ll Do

• Drive and operate LGV collection vehicles safely and efficiently
• Lead, support and supervise a small crew during daily collection rounds
• Carry out vehicle walk-around checks and maintain accurate records
• Use the Bartec ‘in-cab’ system to update service data in real time
• Ensure all waste is collected in line with schedules, policies and safety standards
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the service positively
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake manual handling tasks

Requirements

• Category C (LGV) driving licence – essential
• Experience in waste operations, LGV driving or similar vehicle handling
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks safely
