Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Mentor

Area: Rochdale, Greater Manchester

Start Date: ASAP - September 2025

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and responsibilities

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

This is a full-time, permanent position starting ASAP in September 2025.

Overview of the School

We are working with a warm, inclusive specialist school in Rochdale seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Mentor. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping children with SEND, SEMH, and complex needs grow in confidence, independence and learning.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHC plans and additional needs.
  • Deliver tailored interventions and support plans to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
  • Mentor and guide pupils, promoting resilience, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers to co-plan lessons, track progress, and contribute to pupil development.
  • Support the wider school team in creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, or complex needs.
  • A Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • A compassionate, calm, and proactive approach to behaviour and learning support.
  • Strong understanding of Autism, SEMH, and SEND strategies.
Eligibility to Apply
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Have an enhanced child barring list DBS certificate registered with the update service (or be willing to apply).
  • Provide two professional child-related references.
