Overview

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a private day nursery in Chelmsford in its search for a Nursery Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to join a warm and positive team who focus on child engagement through a therapeutic approach. The nursery cares for up to 125 children, with both indoor and outdoor areas divided into age‑appropriate spaces designed to encourage sensory exploration and development. The team ensures children are supported to challenge themselves and take safe, rewarding risks in a secure environment.

Role Details

The nursery is looking to take on a Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner on a long‑term basis, with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate. You will report directly to the Nursery Manager and may be required to work across all rooms, supporting children aged 6 weeks to 4 years. With the nursery growing, there are also career progression opportunities for the right person.

Responsibilities

As a Nursery Practitioner you will:

• Provide daily care and support for children aged 6 weeks to 4 years.
• Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
• Engage children through therapeutic approaches and sensory exploration.
• Work across all rooms as needed.
• Support children to challenge themselves and take safe, rewarding risks.
