Job description

Our client is a leading name in the water treatment/hygiene sector, known for providing high-quality water and legionella services to clients across the country. They currently hold a vacancy for a professional and experienced Legionella Risk Assessor based in or around the Watford area. The successful candidate must come from a strong water treatment background and be experienced under‑taking legionella risk assessments to ACOP L8 guidelines. Consideration will be given to candidates from High Wycombe, Windsor, Maidenhead, Hayes, Oxford and the surrounding areas.

Experience:

• Holding the City & Guilds Legionella Risk Assessment certificate or equivalent qualification will be advantageous.
• Will ideally be educated to degree level.
• The applicant will hold a strong water treatment / legionella background and must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
• Will have hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Packages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, changing and replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
• Monitoring client’s air and water systems and ensuring that they comply with the current Health and Safety legislation.
• Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.
• Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
• Interpreting the results and maintaining and installing dosing systems, etc.
• Providing accurate reports and maintaining paperwork.
• Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.
• Carrying out plumbing work as and when required.
• Carrying out surveys, risk assessments, document reviews, sampling, preparing schematic drawings and report writing.
