Overview

As a Legal Counsel specialising in Employment, you will provide legal advice and counsel to the QinetiQ Group, covering all aspects of industrial relations & employment law, related litigation and mediation issues, regulatory compliance and broader legal subjects relating to employment issues. Day-to-day, you'll report into the Group Head of Employment Law, and collaborate as needed with the People Function, Sector Operations and our legal advisers in the QinetiQ Group in-house Legal & IP Team, and our global network of external legal counsel.

Responsibilities

• Working on diverse and complex litigation cases at tribunal as well as advising and supporting disciplinaries and grievances
• Applying your UK employment knowledge across multiple jurisdictions working in partnership with international partners
• Actively supporting the mergers, acquisitions and sales departments
• Identifying and supporting development of new policy & process improvements, training needs for the People Function, and advising on new employment related legislation that may affect its business
• Maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and functional colleagues, and promoting the value of the group's Legal, IP and Company Secretarial team

Qualifications

• A well-developed grounding in all aspects of employment law, with sound legal judgment and understanding of the employment regulatory environment.
• Experience working in a law firm or in-house legal team.
• Qualified employment lawyer with 2-3 year's post-qualification within employment law.
