Job description
Overview

We are looking for two qualified lawyers with experience in practice to join our Academic Team at our London Bloomsbury Campus as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to cover maternity leave. We have a full time position with cover needed until August 2026. Reporting into our Academic Manager, you will be providing tuition across The University of Law course portfolio including, the Legal Practice Course, SQE, Law Conversion Programmes, the LLM in Legal Practice, the LLB, Master\'s in Law, Academic Masters courses and/or other University courses to the best possible standard. We are open to applicants in all areas of law, but we are particularly interested in hearing from solicitors and barristers with experience in Equity and Trust, Land and Real Estate, Property, and SQE Skills.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality teaching and support for learning, including communication with other academics for the continuous improvement of teaching and student support.
  • Identify the need for developing the content, structure, assessment within modules with colleagues and make proposals on how this should be achieved.
  • Contribute to effective design and review of inclusive learning. Maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular and assessment design.
  • Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills.
  • Act as a module lecturer, academic coach and sign-post students on pastoral aspects during their learning journey.
  • Sufficient breadth and depth of professional experience in the relevant discipline to develop teaching programmes and learning support.
  • Professional, credible, commands respect.
Requirements
  • For Lecturer positions: Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • For Senior Lecturer positions: Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject; Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA); Relevant teaching qualification.
  • For Senior Lecturers you will have developed significant expertise in: Application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments and marking, team leadership.
Salary and Benefits

On top of a salary of Lecturer £40,250 - £42,250 and Senior Lecturer £48,000 - £53,000 (pro rata) + location allowance of £4,200 you will enjoy:
