Overview

Job Title: Sociology Lecturer (BTEC / A Level)

Location: Kensington & Chelsea

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sociology Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching to students studying BTEC and/or A Level programmes, to join a Sixth Form College in Kensington. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, marking and assessing student work, and supporting learners to achieve their academic and career aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess Sociology modules at BTEC Level 3 and/or A Level.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Mark and provide timely, constructive feedback on student work.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide academic support where needed.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, course planning, and enrichment activities.
  • Participate in team meetings, quality assurance, and standardisation processes.
Essential Requirements
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Sociology or a closely related subject.
  • Experience teaching or training in Sociology at Level 3 or above.
  • Strong subject knowledge with the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
