Overview

Are you passionate about enhancing young people's careers? The School of Health Education and Care is looking for a full time Lecturer who will inspire our learners to achieve their full potential during their time at West Herts College.

The right candidate will plan, deliver, and assess across our Health and Social care courses as well as Psychology program at levels 1, 2, and 3. The candidate will be responsible for delivering skills and knowledge to high standards through preparing resources, delivering lessons, marking student work, ensuring exam success, and supporting students with their whole programme of study. We are seeking an adaptable industry specialist to teach and embed essential skills to enable learners to successfully progress to their next steps, whether continuing at West Herts College, Higher Education or employment. Learners complete invaluable work experience placements as part of their study programme, which will launch them into a career in the Health and Social Care sector with skills and experiences that align with their chosen career path.

This opportunity exists for an individual who wants to work in a stimulating environment to inspire our students to achieve their best. The successful candidate will need to have the essential skills and knowledge required in Health and Social Care and Psychology. You will ideally have experience working with young people or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting; having an inspirational and motivational approach is essential to educate and encourage learners towards a successful career.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess across Health and Social Care courses and Psychology at levels 1, 2, and 3.
  • Prepare resources, deliver lessons, mark student work, and support students with their overall programme of study.
  • Deliver skills and knowledge to high standards and support exam success.
  • Embed essential employability skills and facilitate progression to further study or employment.
  • Support learners through work experience placements and align experiences with career goals.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care and/or Psychology and relevant vocational experience.
  • Teaching qualification would be advantageous; however, full teacher training is offered to the successful candidate.
  • Experience working with young people or apprentices in a college or educational setting is desirable.
