Overview

Permanent, Part Time (0.6) – 21.6 hours per week over 52 weeks a year.

The School of Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Health and Social Care Lecturer to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development.
  • Develop, initiate, promote and sustain innovative and quality improvement intervention strategies.
  • Select appropriate assessment methods and criteria, assess the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria, and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Reflect on teaching design and delivery and obtain and analyse feedback to seek ways of improving performance.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • Relevant degree in Health and Social Care.
  • Teaching experience in Health and Social Care in an FE College.
  • Successful record of tutoring and supporting learners and of setting and implementing target setting, monitoring and reviewing progress.
  • Strong evidence of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and of effective employer engagement in curriculum design and delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of current framework for teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance.
  • Interdisciplinary skills and working experience.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy and general office software management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in group and interpersonal situations; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
